We had a job to do ... put up a new sign for the former Ramada Inn ... and ...
take down the letters making up the Ramada Inn name on the side of the 10 story building.

We'll start with what we call "Lo" ...

Let's look at how we handled the first task ... putting up a 1000 pound custom made sign for the renamed Velda Rose Resort Hotel.

 #1 The Velda Rose Resort Hotel and the Ramada sign that's got to come down.
#2, #3, #4  Cranes in place ... bolts to be removed
#5 Old sign being removed

Down, down and down!

 
The old is down ... now the New  goes Up!

Getting things ready!

Prepare the area.

Raise, level and weld.  All that's missing is the finished sign in all it's glory. (Our camera ran out of battery power - the picture will be taken and posted here the week of January 8, 2001.)

Now we'll go to what we call "Hi"

On the roof .. get ready ... and over the side.

The  descent ... to letters R and A (tied together)

Unbolting rusted nuts

Removing, lowering ... the ground!

From the roof ... the views are grand!

The rest of the letters were removed.
